Otters Pocket
The name Otters Pocket is taken from an original batch of home made beer brewed when we lived in Oswestry, Shropshire. The beer was an aged strong beer, brewed slowly, with a mix of hops and malt extract to give Otters Pocket beer a bitter, strong taste.
Like the beer, Otters Pocket Cider is a strong blend of bitter/sweet and sharp apples, to give it an unique taste. We have added extra sugar to the brew to give Otters Pocket the same kick as the beer, but as the cider blend already contains the apple’s natural sugars, the resulting cider brew is a truly strong Scrumpy cider!
Turbo Cider
As the name suggests, Turbo is a mind blowing cider whose apple blend has been given extra time to ferment.
When creating the Cider we let it the apple wort ferment for two extra days, allowing the apple tannings to develop deep flavours in the brew. Because we let the wort develop more of its natural sugars, the addition of fine dextrose sugar has sent Turbo Cider into overdrive!!!
Winter Solstice
Winter Solstice is a lighter cider whose blends gives the cider a natural dry taste. The cider also relies on its natural sugars and tannings to give the cider its soft strength.
Like with Turbo and Otters Pocket, Winter Solstice uses biodynamic apples sourced from High Vale Orchard, and as we do not add any additional sugars or nutrients - the cider carries the apples’ natural bitter flavours and sweet sugars.
Look forward to trying all three in medium fast succession next time we’re in Perth!
